Nazaraliev’s treatment method is based on Author’s Approach in treating psychological illnesses, alcoholism and addictions. The therapeutic concept is conducted in a serious, scientific complex of medical methods which provides patients with effective rehabilitation from their illness.
It has one distinctive aspect: the patient is hospitalized together with a close family member. During treatment the co-dependent also receives psychological correction and conducts self-evaluation. We provide psychotherapeutic correction sessions for family members trying to change their attitudes towards the patient’s sickness, and coach them on how to provide first psychological and physical aid if necessary.
The method itself has a triple psychotherapeutic union: the doctor, the patient and the family member (co-dependent person). This helps to attain higher treatment efficacy, showing up to an 86% success rate in drug addiction treatment and 92% success rate in treating alcoholism.
The first stage of Nazaraliev's complex treatment method is based on the implementation of psychopharmacological therapy and central cholinolytic blockade sessions. (CCLB).
What is psychopharmacological therapy?
Psychopharmacological therapy involves the use of neuroleptics, antidepressants, tranquilizers, immunomodulators and other medical drugs, which are widely used in psychotherapy and drug addiction treatment practice. Apart from those listed above, a general infusion and overall health restorative therapy is conducted.
What is Central Cholinolytic Blockade?
Central Cholinolytic Blockade (CCLB) is the key method for the release of an acute withdrawal syndrome (abstinent syndrome). Broadly speaking, CCLB is the base pharmacotherapeutic method in blocking psycho-physical addiction.
The CCLB method allows for rapid (2 to 6 sessions) ridding of the neurotic signs and symptoms, as well easing the pain and overall psycho-negative condition of the patient. The treatment is administered in the form of a low dose of atropine. Under the influence of atropine the patient is put to sleep for a few hours (2-3 hours). As a result, the patient becomes more psychologically flexible, which increases the opportunity to conduct psychotherapeutic work in the future more effectively.
Is it dangerous?
We have conducted over 100,000 Central Cholinolytic Blockade sessions. The dosage of the drug is assigned and used individually. During the artificial sleep session, patients are observed by professional anesthesiologist-resuscitators and psychotherapists who control the process, and the procedure is conducted in an intensive care department. No negative influences on the human body or mind were observed in our clinic in the last 25 years of practical experience.
Why is it needed?
The aim of this stage is the painless and rapid release of an acute abstinence syndrome, and the suppression of pathological cravings. The patient’s body is cleared of toxins and decaying products, their condition stabilizes and a state of adequate psychological form is attained. The patient will then be ready for the next treatment stages.
Additional Procedures
In addition to all the procedures, patients receive:
DURING THE SECOND STAGE OF TREATMENT BEHAVIORAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL CORRECTION IS CONDUCTED. NEARBY TO THE REHABILITATION FACILITY, ON THE MOUNTAIN OF SALVATION CALLED "TASHTAR-ATA", A HAND MADE PILE OF STONES SURROUNDED BY FOUR PAGODAS (CHRISTIAN, MUSLIM, BUDDHIST AND JUDAISM) EXISTS. PATIENTS COME HERE TO THINK OF AND EVALUATE THEIR LIVES, PRAY AND PERFORM SYMBOLIC RITUALS. PRAYERS CAN BE DESCRIBED AND USED AS ONE OF THE APPROACHES IN TRANSPERSONAL PSYCHOTHERAPY. AT THE MOUNTAIN OF SALVATION PATIENTS ARE INTRODUCED TO THE NEXT TREATMENT STAGE: "MINDCRAFTING".
What is MindCrafting?
"MindCrafting" is a new terminology in psychotherapy, literally meaning crafting the mind. "MindCrafting" is a psychotherapeutic synthesis of Eastern spiritual and philosophical approaches to medicine, and Western pragmatic scientific techniques. The aim of "MindCrafting" is to help patients obtain a wholeness of consciousness to sustain his/her psychological state, by strengthening mental health, thus allowing the patient to rediscover their confidence and abilities. "MindCrafting" opens new horizons for self-development and enables one to learn the anti-relapse techniques.
Where is the program conducted?
The program is conducted at the yurt camp Ak-Tengir (White Space) located on the lake Issyk-Kul. This place is popular for its healing waters, medical clay, fresh mountain air and sunny weather. Ak-Tengir has everything to heal the body and spirit. Patients live in comfortable handmade yurts (traditional Kyrgyz houses used by nomads), and the rounded yurts create harmony and balance with Mother Nature, thus providing psychological comfort. The sauna (bania) located in one of these yurts at the lake shore helps to further clear the body of toxins and decaying products in the most unique way.
Additional Procedures
In our clinic doctors conduct group and individual psychotherapy – using the Hellinger arrangement. Transactional analyses, body-oriented therapy, art-therapy and personal growth groups. The innovative psycho-technique “The Labyrinth” is aimed at working with a traumatic past and the patient's memory. In order to ease the psycho and physical state of the patient, patients are additionally sent on trips to beautiful and sacred places around the lake.
Specially designed psychotherapeutic techniques allow for resistance against deadly habits during remission.
A patient who completes our rehabilitation course strengthens their spirit and their willpower. It will help them to reject any drug use temptations in the future.
Practicing breathing allows the patient to suppress raging emotions, return to a calm state of mind and immerse themselves into a feeling of wholeness. After experiencing cosmic sensations the patient discovers new abilities within themselves.
Tremendous emotional upliftment is attained and the patient begins to feel happy in the “here and now”. Their hidden potential is revealed and their thought processes become more flexible and less ordinary. During the training peak the patient reaches an empty sensation.
This is the point when their consciousness expands and they are capable of seeing and solving things and problems from an absolutely different and wiser perspective.
Meditation allows the patient to reach a certain state of consciousness. From a state of illness and suffering, the patient is transformed into the feeling of self-healing, harmony and internal balance.
According to Sri Aurobindo's meditation techniques, the patient finds a feeling of unity, kindness, and positive perception of life in all its variety. Psychic energy is activated and then transferred above the frames of stereotypes.
This is an ancient magical whirling dance. The Mevlevi Order is a Sufi Order founded by the followers of Jalal ad-Din Muhhamad Balkhi-Rumi, a 13th century Persian poet and theologian. Patients mimic the rhythmic spinning movement, thus creating a powerful energy. This unique overwhelming feeling causes the body to fall to the earth.
The patient feels the support of the earth, but the consciousness is still present in the wild carousel. The spinning motion enables one to reach the Almighty. It is both an act of love and belief. The rhythmic spinning and the entire experience evokes feelings of ecstasy and mystic flight, raising confidence, endurance and courage.
The Aum, also spelled Om or Ohm, represents the sound that tunes the human organism. provides the body and mind with peace, relaxation and harmony. Repetitive chanting produces excellent mental and physical health. This practice lowers blood pressure and increases the efficiency of all the cells and organs in the body. Aum chanting rejuvenates the mind and increases concentration and memory skills, therefore teaching the individual effective meditation techniques.
Aum chanting is a therapy program with outstanding healing benefits: it is a universal mantra that everyone is capable of performing. Aum symbolizes the stairs that take a person to the highest level of consciousness. One must understand that Aum is the underlying current permeating the universe, so when meditating the Aum, you experience eternity, immortality, inner spiritual strength, deep insights and changes in your perception of everyday life.
The ancient sages used this psycho-technique to replenish physical power and rest the mind. This relaxation training and methods dates back centuries and was used to celebrate traditions and rituals. Every cell in the body succumbs to a state of intense relaxation. The body experiences a unique lightness uninterrupted by any external disturbances.
A 20 minute session in Savasana is equivalent to a 3 hour sleep. The therapeutic nature of this training reduces migraines, lowers the blood pressure and decreases symptoms associated with asthma, neuroses and depression.
Lapidopsychotherapy is about working with “the stone of soul”. This is a modern practice directed at transforming all negative thoughts and feelings inside a stone which the patient chose during the rehabilitation period.
The stone is the keeper of information for centuries. Holding it tightly in their hands, the patient transforms all his negative experience and feelings onto it.
Psychologically, the stone then symbolizes the burden of the past, and during the ritual of liberation on the Sacred Mountain of Salvation "Tashtar-Ata", it will be thrown into a huge pile of similar stones. In other words, the patient will throw their burden off their shoulders.
From ancient times, silence was used as a powerful training tool. Indian Yogis, Dervishes of the East, and Egyptian Priests taught this element to their students. The vow of silence is an auto-psycho-training technique harmoniously linked to the psycho-therapeutic method conducted at the natural wonders of “Tashtar-Ata”.
This training is one of the most important elements in overcoming the patient's addictive behavior. The session is specifically focused on transforming the patient's personality through self-immersion, self-analysis, critical thinking and self-introspection of their past. At this moment the "I am" concept begins to develop and the idea of “I am strong” solidly forms.
AFTER COMPLETING THE FIRST TWO TREATMENT STAGES, THE PATIENT IS EVALUATED BY A MEDICAL COMMISSION AND THEN ASSIGNED EITHER STRESS ENERGETIC PSYCHOTHERAPY OR A PILGRIMAGE TO THE SALVATION MOUNTAIN TASHTAR-ATA.
THE THIRD STAGE IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO STRENGTHEN THE RESULTS OF TREATMENT. PATIENTS LEAVE NEGATIVE MEMORIES BEHIND AND STEP INTO A NEW, DRUG-FREE LIFE.
Stress Energetic Psycho Therapy is a modernized form of elementary psychotherapy.
During the sessions special elements of imperative influence and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) are used. On the third day, when the expectation level reaches apogee, the patient is taken to a specially designed and brightly lit room, where they undergo a very powerful psychotherapeutic influence session.
In this condition, patients are partially disoriented in time and space, and extensive sweating and body tremor symptoms are observed. They experience cathartic feelings of purification and rebirth. During the session, the patients feesl and hears absolutely everything and experiences no discomfort or pain, whilst their mind is charged by a doctor-operator with strong and stable directives for their future. After the SEPT session, the patient falls asleep for 2-3 hours. When the patient awakes they feel reborn. During this trance pathological drug and alcohol cravings are eliminated.
SEPT is a powerful finale which helps to completely destroy psychological addiction and provides confidence and power to believe in the new, clean and addiction-free inner-self. SEPT provides solid directives and installations for long term remission and the confidence to withstand relapase attempts.
The alternative to SEPT is a Pilgrimage. The 250km journey begins at the foothills of the great mountain passage Ala Bel. For several days the patient walks towards Tashtar-Ata, the Mountain of Salvation, carrying his or her “Stone of Burden”. Whilst walking, the patient re-evaluates their life and abilities. Every day the patient’s belief strengthens and the immense responsibility to overcome drug addiction and illness is finally accepted. During the route each patient is escorted by a doctor who silently witnesses the monumental achievements. The psychological analysis during this trying passage, amongst the incredible natural surroundings, serves as the necessary motivation to help view life from a different perspective - to finally begin to appreciate life for what it truly is: a gift. Acclimating to the mountain air, camping at night and the physical endurance force the patient to delve into their personal world. Step by step, hour by hour, the person is transformed.
After completing the Pilgrimage or SEPT the patient performs the ritual of rejection.
The ritual of rejection is a metaphoric and symbolic act for the patient. The negative energy which was transferred to the stone is cast away. Addicts’ burdened pasts dissolve into ashes and in the final surge to the summit of a sacred mountain prayers are offered at an ancient holy site.
During the final moments of the rejection ritual, the patient approaches the peak of Tashtar-Ata carrying the “Stone of Burden”. It can be left or thrown onto a pile and the transformation to the new SELF occurs. The stone is thrown at the heart of a stone pile as the patient chants, “from stone to stone, from heart to heart, I pray that my hands are to become drug free forever!”.
After the patient throws the stone, he or she approaches the wild hawthorns to perform a tying ritual. The gesture of tying a knot on the wild bush signifies a rebirth of a “SELF” free from addiction. Offering prayers is a gesture of respect for Mother Nature. Although the ritual is symbolic, the importance of it can be not understated. During the psychotherapeutic program the meaning of these gestures is deeply important for patients.
The challenging Pilgrimage journey is aimed at the patient - they must realize that they are a strong individual and their belief in recovery is unbendable.
Due to the mountain hypoxia, the body quickly adapts to the surrounding environment and the chemistry and metabolism of the whole system changes. This is a powerful impetus for restoring brain chemistry which was previously destroyed by drugs.
